Stress hormones and electromagnetic radiation

Experimental physiologist Dr. Charles Graham found that magnetic fields act on two more hormones. Nocturnal exposure of women to elevated levels of EMZ in the laboratory significantly increased their levels of estrogen, a known risk factor for breast cancer. In men, EMZ exposure reduced testosterone levels, and this drop in hormone levels has been linked to testicular and prostate cancer.
Dr. Graham points out that the constant magnitude of the field affects less than the intermittency of the field and other properties, such as voltage spikes called "current transients". These spikes can cause a powerful burst of energy in a short period of time. They occur every time lights or other electrical devices are turned on, or when motors or compressors (such as those in refrigerators and air conditioners) are started, or when dimmers are used.
Transients are difficult to avoid, because they can be caused by spikes elsewhere - in a neighbor's house, or even in power lines in the street. Dr. Graham also believes that EMF may actually fit the definition of endocrine disruption better than hormone-like environmental substances, because magnetic fields appear to cause their effects by acting on and through hormones, rather than acting as hormones.
