The impact of electromagnetic radiation on people
Scientific studies show that electric and magnetic fields found in homes are probably harmful to human health and the environment.

In the following text, the following question will be explained regarding the harmfulness of these fields if we find ourselves near them.

 
What are the known effects of electromagnetic field exposure?

High frequencies of the electromagnetic field "catch" weak electromagnetic flows inside the body. A magnetic field can cause visual sensations, i.e. slight flickering (eng. phosphenes) or stimulate our nerves and muscles, but this happens mainly in places where magnetic fields are up to 1000 times higher than those found in our homes or workplaces.

Electric fields cause electric discharges on the surface of the body. These fields can be experienced under high voltage power lines.  Under certain circumstances, people can experience microshocks in the form of static shocks coming from objects that are under strong electric fields.  These effects occur mostly in places outside our homes.

 
Is there any long-term health risk associated with exposure to electric and magnetic fields?
 
Many researches have been conducted where the possibility of electronic or magnetic fields causing cancer or other serious diseases has been studied.

Studies examining the effects of electric fields have shown that small charged particles, known as ions, that are generated by power lines can cause health consequences.

The results of some studies have suggested that, if the magnetic field is of increased intensity in homes, it can cause the appearance of leukemia already in childhood. This happens in places where power lines, transformer stations, base stations for mobile communication technology are close.

Studies have also looked at whether there is a connection between other diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Although there were some results that suggested a link, the overall balance of evidence suggested that the link was much smaller with childhood leukemia risk.

The types of studies that investigate these risks face many difficulties, including the possibility of chance, the presence of which can confound the findings. There are no known and certain mechanisms that can confirm and support this evidence of health effects, although on the other hand many claim that the evidence is more than obvious. There are a number of studies showing a possible link between exposure to magnetic fields in the home (or living near power lines, substations, etc.) and the risk of childhood leukemia. It is estimated that 2 to 5 cases of leukemia out of 500 cases could be prescribed by magnetic fields.
