CEFALO is an international survey conducted in several centers in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Switzerland. Through this study that investigates the connection between the use of mobile phones among young people aged 7 to 19 and the occurrence of brain tumors, the final answers of science are sought before the hypothetical question of the wider world public about the possible health consequences of non-ionizing radiation emitted from mobile phones. The CEFALO study was conducted in the period between 2004 and 2008. and through it, 352 patients with brain tumors and 646 control persons were observed and examined.
The first article containing the results of this study was recently published. The authors of the article noted that in these analyses, regular mobile phone users did not reveal a statistically significant increase in the number of tumors compared to the occurrence of tumor diseases in non-users. Likewise, children using mobile phones for at least five years did not detect an increase in the number of tumors compared to those who never used a mobile phone regularly.
The authors conclude that the absence of a relationship between exposure and the appearance of tumors shows that there is no causal relationship between these two factors.
