Harmful effects of mobile phone radiation

Doc. dr Drago Đorđević; Faculty of Medicine; University of Belgrade

SUMMARY

Mobile communications are becoming an integral part of our lives. Close to six billion people have wireless phones. Today, one third of the world's population uses mobile (cellular) phones for everyday communication.
Cell phones cause bioeffects from before conception and pregnancy through infancy, childhood, adolescence and throughout life. The use of mobile phones leads to great possibilities of harmful effects on the health of the human population. The mobile phone creates a state of acute and/or chronic stress and is a risk factor for mental and physical health of both sexes of all ages.
A pregnant woman and her embryo/fetus are a very sensitive part of the population to mobile phone radiation. Exposure to mobile phone radiation during pregnancy endangers fetal brain development and can cause many disorders and diseases. There is a correlation between prenatal and natal exposure to cell phone radiation and behavioral problems in children and adolescents, including attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Maternal exposure to cell phone radiation can affect the onset of speech problems in offspring, including autism spectrum conditions (ASCs).
The consequences of using a mobile phone in children and adolescents, but also in young adults, are acute or chronic occurrences of headaches, irritability, nervousness, dizziness, concentration problems, fear and sleep problems, allergies, symptoms of depression, feelings of heat, fatigue. There are also specific changes in the function of the brain (memory loss, etc.), in the bioelectric activity of the brain, in the cerebral blood flow, in the glucose metabolism of the brain. Frequent and long-term use of a mobile phone, as well as carrying it in a pocket near the testicles or ovaries, increases the risk of infertility.
Chronic exposure to mobile phone radiation results in athermal effects with the appearance of various disorders and diseases, ending with the most severe - mutations and carcinogenesis. Mobile phone users have an increased risk of developing: acoustic neuroma (or vestibular schwannoma), parotid gland tumors (malignant and nonmalignant), meningioma, glioma, astrocytoma, breast cancer, ovarian and testicular cancer, leukemia.

DETRIMENTAL EFFECTS OF MOBILE TELEPHONY RADIATION

ABSTRACT

Mobile communications have become an integral part of our lives. Nearly six billion people globally own wireless phones. Today one-third of the world's population uses mobile (cell) phones for everyday communication.
Mobile phone causes bioeffects from preconception and pregnancy through infancy, childhood, adolescence and the whole life-course. Using a mobile phone leads to greater possibilities of harmful effects on the health of the human population. Mobile phone creates a state of acute and/or chronic stress and it is a risk factor for mental and physical health of both sexes of all ages.
Pregnant women and their embryos/fetuses are a very sensitive part of the population to radiation from mobile telephony. Mobile phone radiation exposure during pregnancy impacts fetal brain development and may cause many disorders or diseases. There is a correlation between prenatal and postnatal exposure to mobile phone radiation and neurobehavioral problems in children and adolescents, including attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Maternal exposure to mobile phone radiation can affect the occurrence of speech problems in the offspring, including autism spectrum conditions (ASCs).
The consequences of mobile phones used by children and adolescents but also by young adults are acute or chronic occurrences of headache, irritation, nervousness, dizziness, concentration problems, fear and sleeping problems, allergies, symptoms of depression, feelings of heat, fatigue. There are also specific changes in the brain function (decreased memory, et al.), in the bioelectrical activity of the brain, in the blood flow of the brain, in the brain glucose metabolism. Frequent and long-term use of a mobile phone, as well as carrying in a pocket near the testicle or ovary, increases the risk of infertility.
Chronic exposure to mobile telephony radiation resulting in athermal effects with appearance of a variety of disorders and diseases, ending with the most difficult - mutations and cancerogenesis. Mobile phone users are at increased risk of developing: acoustic neuromas (or Schvanoma vestibulare), salivary gland tumors (cancerous and non-cancerous), meningiomas, gliomas, astrocytomas, breast carcinomas, ovarian and testicular carcinomas, leukemias.
