Five girls from the 9th grade of a school in Denmark performed a very interesting experiment, which attracted enormous attention from people around the world, and the pictures they posted on the Internet caused a very stormy reaction from many researchers, biologists and radiation experts from England, Holland and Sweden.
The router still radiates
The experiment consisted of observing the development of seeds of identical plants in two rooms with an identical position towards the sun, the same amount of water with which they were watered and the same temperature. A wireless internet router that emits the same type of radiation as a regular mobile phone was placed in one room, and there was none in the other room. After 12 days, the germinated seeds next to the Wi-Fi router did not grow at all, and some plants even mutated or died completely. The plants grown from seeds in a room without radiation progressed quite normally and were completely healthy.
The young researchers actually wanted to draw attention to how the mobile phone, which most of us keep next to the bed near our head at night, affects sleep and concentration, but it was impossible to measure such a thing at school, so they decided to show it on plants.
Turn off the computer at night
Since they saw the result of the experiment, none of them sleep with the phone next to the bed anymore.
- It's really scary that radiation has such a negative effect on living beings, so every individual should take this into account. During the night, turn off the phone or put it in another room, and the computer must be turned off while you sleep, says Lea Nielsen, one of the young scientists.
What to say after all? The experiment proved how harmful radiation is, and you should think carefully about whether you will keep your mobile phone close to your head during the night (or day) in the future!
